French I (Grades 9-12, 1 credit). French I is an academic elective. The course includes the basics of reading, writing, and speaking French. It also introduces the countries and cultures where French is spoken.

 

French II (Grades 9-12, 1 credit). French II is a weighted academic elective. The course continues the reading, writing, and speaking of French. It adds new grammar and vocabulary, as well as culture and history. Prerequisites: C average in French I and teacher approval recommended.

 

French III (Grade 10-12, 1 credit). French III is a weighted, advanced level college-prep course. The course focuses on fluency through the study of the early history and literature of France. It also introduces advanced French grammar topics as well current events and French society. Prerequisites: B+ average in French II and teacher approval required.

 

French IV (Grade 10-12, 1 credit). French IV is a weighted, advanced level college-prep course. The course focuses on fluency through the study of the later history and literature of France. It carries on the study of advanced French grammar as well current events and French society. (A minimum of 14 students for class offering is required.) Prerequisites: Teacher approval required.
