General Graduation Information

Senior 2017

General Information

 

As graduation approaches, your activities will increase to a rapid pace. Listed below are some things that you need to remember:

 

Senior Semester Exam Information:

May 15 – review day for seniors

May 16 – 1st and 2nd block exams (during regular class time)

May 17– 3rd and 4th block exams (during regular class time)

May 18 – make up with prior administrative approval

May 18 – senior visits to elementary schools – time to be announced  

May 19 – Valedictorian, salutatorian and top 10 honor seniors will meet with Mr. Rodgers at 1:00 p.m.

 

Exam check-out: Students may check out after exams with a note from a parent/guardian unless you have an attendance or academic problem and need to attend class.

 

2.  Honor Society and Honor Seniors

Valedictorian, salutatorian and honor seniors will wear their gold stoles. Seniors who are members of National Honor Society, Art National Honor Society, French Honor Society or Spanish Honor Society no longer have to choose a cord. They may wear all four cords. No other honor society is recognized by Enterprise High School. Students who receive the Seal of Distinction will also wear a purple cord. Students that have already enlisted to serve in the military may also wear their respective cords.                                 

 

4.  Diplomas

Seniors will pick up their diplomas in the competition gym immediately after graduation exercises in the stadium. Students keep their caps and gowns.

 

5.  Awards Night

Awards Night is Thursday, May 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. All seniors should attend. Any senior receiving a scholarship will sit on the stage and be recognized. Caps and gowns will not be worn. Be sure to return your senior survey to Mrs. McClenny in Guidance by the deadline. There will be awards program practice for award recipients on Wednesday, May 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the PAC.

 

6.   Baccalaureate
Baccalaureate will be Sunday, May 21 at Hillcrest Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m. Seniors will report for practice at 3:00 p.m.

 

7.  Graduation

Graduation is Thursday, May 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the stadium. In case of rain or severe weather, graduation may be delayed or postponed until the next day, May 26. We will wait until 9:00 p.m. or later before postponing the ceremony. In case of inclement weather, please follow us on Facebook for up-to-date announcements and instructions.

 

8.  Practice

Practice for graduation will be 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 24. You are to report to the practice gym. Practice will be in the stadium. In case of rain, report to the practice gym unless otherwise notified by Mr. Rodgers.          

 

ALL SENIORS MUST ATTEND PRACTICE! See Mr. Rodgers if you have any problems. Also, seniors should not visit any other Enterprise schools or area schools following practice or exams.

 

9.  Graduation dress:

Boys wear dress pants, dress shirts, shoes, socks and TIES with their caps and gowns. Girls should wear skirts, dresses or dress/business slacks.  DO NOT ALTER THE GOWNS BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN PROPERLY FITTED FOR YOUR HEIGHT. DO NOT ALTER THE CAPS IN ANY WAY. NO DECORATIONS, UNAPPROVED CORDS OR OTHER ACCESSORIES WILL BE ALLOWED.

 

10.  Ceremony:

ALL SENIORS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PARK AT BATES MEMORIAL STADIUM OR BE DROPPED OFF AT WILDCAT STADIUM BY A PARENT. SHUTTLES WILL BEGIN RUNNING AT 4:00 P.M. FROM BATES TO WILDCAT STADIUM. SHUTTLES WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC TO AVOID LONG LINES AND CONGESTION. AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE CEREMONY, SHUTTLES WILL RETURN SENIORS AND GUESTS TO BATES MEMORIAL STADIUM.

 

Seniors will report to the competition gym no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 25. We will line up to march into

the stadium at 6:45 p.m.

 

***If canceled we will have graduation on Friday, May 26 at 10:00 a.m. Be at the gym by 8:00 a.m.

 

11.  Areas that may prevent you from graduating:

 

     **Attendance problems

     **Truancy (skipping a class or school)

     **Failing a course or courses required for graduation

     **Major discipline problems/assignment to WOW (TAP)

 

Be sure to clear the school by the end of the day on Wednesday, May 24. Turn in all books, pay any fees, pay for lost books, library fines, etc., that you might owe. You will not be allowed to go through the graduation ceremony if you have not cleared the school. Diplomas and transcripts will be held until fees have been cleared.

 

You will be notified as soon as possible if you have failed a subject and will not be allowed to graduate. We do not allow a student to participate in graduation activities after it has been determined that the student has failed a subject needed for graduation. Please do not ask to be allowed to do so. Summer school graduates do not participate in graduation ceremonies.

 

12.  Final report cards

      Report cards may be picked up after the ceremony when you pick up your diploma.
